CANDIDATE : Zia Ulhaq EXAMINER: CAPT. VINOD RANGANATHAN TYPE OF SHIP: General Cargo, Dredger RESULT: PASSED. DATE: 02/03/2011 Reached MCA Office at 1400,my Orals was scheduled @ 1430.Capt. VINOD called me inside the room on time.Checked All my Documents & then asked me what type of ships have I done & their trading routes. Questions may not be in order: 1. Started with Loading & discharging procedure on Dredger and areas of concern and safety precautions? 2 As we have lot of wire work on dregdger how to find SWL on them and when to discard? 3. How and where you keep record of Wires and cargo gears? 4. Advise to 2nd Mate and information you share regarding Passage Plan? 5. Standing order to 2nd mate. 6. What precaution you take while loading cargo? 7. Company instructed next loading port? How will you plan Cargo loading? 8. Loading heavy container? Precautions and areas of consideation? (Heavy lift operation) 9. FSE? GM? Where you find KM & KG? 10. Loading dangerous cargo, what you require? 11. You are sleeping, Master Ashore, Ship alongside, and Loading, 2nd mate raised alarm, Fire in DG container? 12. Heavy Weather Preparation? 13. What tests you do on Life Boat? (I cound'nt recall MGN number of Muster and drill so, I said there is also M notice for Muster and drill) 14. This Lead to Question what is difference between all "M" Notices? 15. Marpol? Annex V? Resposibilities, Content and entries? 16. Entries in Official log Book reference to cargo? 17. MOB, Tell every thing from muster to recovery of Person? (i) Poisition Known. (ii) How you get medical advice, what you consult? where you contact? 18. Loanline survey? (full procedure) 19. You are offwatch, Vessel ran aground? 20. Open Sea Situations: (i) Vessel Aground fine on STBD bow? (ii) F.V crossing from Port Bow? (iii) CBD on Port Bow? (iv) SV crossing from STBD? 21. Smarty Board: (i) CBD? (ii) Trawler Net Fast an obstruction? (iii) Tug and Tow? 22. Ristricted Visibility: (i) VSL on STBD bow? (ii) VSL on PORT bow? (iii) Overaking another VSL? 23. Buoys: (Heading south/ Outbound) (i) Preffered channel to port. Then He said "You are Passed". then small chat, and he showed me way out. * I am very thankfull to my Teacher Mr. Vinil Gupta, without this preparation this could'nt be easier. | |
